Rosanna M. Lopes

New Bedford – Rosanna M. Lopes, age 66, passed away on Monday March 21, 2016 at Sacred Heart Home. She was the daughter of the late John A. and Grace C. (Barros) Lopes.

Ms. Lopes was a lifelong resident of this area and worked as a Bookkeeper for the New Bedford Whaling Museum and Merchant Bay Bank. She loved traveling and listening to music, however her real passion was doing hair,she attended The LeBaron Hairdressing School where she received her Hairdresser's license.

She is survived by a son, Michael J. Lopes; grandchildren: Aaron Wittington Lopes, Makayla Lopes and Kiana Lopes; siblings: John A. Lopes, Jr., Antone S. Lopes, Barbara Afonso, Lisa Lopes, Dwayne Lopes and Paul Lopes; nieces/nephews: Jakia, Jamealya, Marquis, Alysia, Jason, Nathan, Jacqueline, Vanessa, TJ, Sharon, DJ, Brandon,Tanisha Suamira and Ellora; as well as several great nieces and nephews,cousins, aunts and uncles.

Visitation will be held in the funeral home on Monday from 5 – 8 P.M. with a service to begin at 7:30 P.M. Cremation will follow. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford, MA.
