Richard A. Silva

Richard Silva, 65, of Dartmouth died peacefully at Tufts Medical Center in Boston on December 18, 2015 after a brief illness. He was the son of the late Alfred and Lillian (Costa) Silva, and is survived by his wife of 40 years, Ann, daughter Jodie (of Colorado), and his four-legged buddy, Spenser.

Richard retired in July 2014 from The Jordan Hospital in Plymouth, MA after a 35-year career as a Radiologic and MRI Technologist.

Richard always loved the water and during the summers he found enjoyment sailing in Buzzards Bay on his sailboat, Horsefeathers. He learned to ski in his 40’s and found that he loved downhill skiing as well.

Throughout his life he tackled many carpentry projects outside, as well as inside, the house. This grew into a love of woodworking, resulting in some beautiful furniture pieces for his home.

Richard is also survived by his uncles Gil, Gene, and John Costa and a number of cousins.

In accordance with his wishes, Richard will be cremated. A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, January 17, 2016. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. New Bedford, Ma 02740.
