Antonio D. Silva

New Bedford – Antonio D. Silva, age 56, of Dartmouth, passed away on Saturday December 12, 2015 at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Teresa (Tavares) Silva and the son of the late Maria do Carmo (Sousa) and Antonio Silva.

Born in Agua de Pau, St. Michael, Azores, Mr. Silva came to this country in 1983 and worked as a Machine Operator for Progressive Polymer.

Antonio loved to both play and watch soccer. He also enjoyed fishing, music and the company of family and friends. He was always making jokes and enjoyed to make people laugh.

His family includes his wife, Teresa Silva, of Dartmouth; 3 children: Kevin Silva and his wife, Llewelyn, Elton Silva and Briana Silva, all of Dartmouth; 5 siblings: Jorgina Silva, Iria Silva, Gloria Silva, Maria do Carmo Silva and the late Juvelino Silva; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Silva’s funeral will be on Wednesday beginning in the funeral home at 8:00 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 9:00 A.M. Burial will follow in South Dartmouth Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Tuesday evening from 5 – 8 P.M. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford, MA.
