Alda Marques

Dartmouth – Alda Marques, age 87 formerly of New Bedford, passed away on Tuesday December 8, 2015 at Brandon Woods of Dartmouth. She was the loving wife of the late Alfredo Marques and the daughter of the late Evangelina C. (DeMelo) and Alvaro DeSousa Cavaco.

Mrs. Marques was born in St. Michael, Azores and, after moving to this country in 1979, she worked as a Floor Lady for Cliftex Corporation until her retirement.

Survivors include her children: Edna Pereira and her husband Manuel, Jose Adriano DaSilva and his wife Graca, Lidia Ferreira and her husband Paulo, and Fatima Pimentel and her husband Jose F. all of New Bedford. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Marques’ visitation will be held on Friday morning from 8:00 – 9:00 A.M. with a service to begin at 9:00 A.M. in the funeral home. Burial will take place at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford, MA.
