Violet Gertrude Brilhante

Providence, RI – Violet Gertrude Brilhante,passed away on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at the Rhode Island Hospital . She was the loving wife of the late Alfred Brilhante and daughter of the late Gertrude (Simkins) and William Pilkington. She was born in Fall River and worked as a seamstress for many years until her retirement. Upon her retirement Violet worked as a greeter for Walmart in her spare time. She was a graduate of the LeBaron Academy.
She is survived by her 2 children; Michael Brilhante and his companion Mary Lou Borden of Florida, and Kathleen Botelho Rogers and her husband Robert of New Bedford; her 4 grandchildren: Lisa Brilhante, Kendra Rogers, Jordin Rogers and Kynsey Rogers; and several great grandchildren. She was the sister of Ida Pilkington and was grandmother of the late Michael Brilhante and Robert Botelho Jr. She was also the sister of the late William Pilkington, Irene Pilkington, George Pilkington and Ella Bruneau.
Her funeral will take place in the funeral home on Monday at 10:30 A.M. followed by a graveside service to begin at 11:30 A.M. Burial will take place at St. John Cemetery. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford, MA.
