Fernandina Geral

New Bedford – Fernandina Geral, age 99, passed away peacefully, on Monday October 12, 2015 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the widow of Jose C. Geral.
Born St. Michael, Azores, Fernandina came to this country with her husband in 1967 and worked as a Seamstress until her retirement.
She is survived by her daughter, Margaret D’Alfonso and her husband, Mario and a grandson, Joseph D’Alfonso, all of Assonet; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Geral was predeceased by 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
Her Funeral will be Thursday beginning in the funeral home at 9:30 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford, MA.
