New Bedford – Arlindo (AKA Eddie) J. DaSilva, age 42, passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at the Brighams and Womens Hospital in Boston, surrounded by family after battling courageously with A.M.L. He was the loving husband of Michelle (Mota) DaSilva of New Bedford and the son of Maria Terezinha (Jorge) and Arlindo C. DaSilva. He was born in New Bedford and spent most of his life in this area. Arlindo worked for Cummins North East Co. as a Generator Tech. He Proudly served our country in the United States Navy.
He is survived by his wife: Michelle and their dog Patch; his parents; Arlindo and Maria DaSilva, a sister: Fernanda DaSilva-Gonsalves and her husband Paul, brother: Steven DaSilva and his wife Charisma. Mother and father in law: Fatima and Fernando Mota, a brother in law Michael Mota; as well as 3 nephews, 3 godchildren and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Mr. DaSilva's funeral will be Saturday beginning in the funeral home at 7:30 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church to begin at 8:30 A.M. Burial will follow in South Dartmouth Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Friday evening from 5 – 8 P.M. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford, MA.
