Maria Idalina Melo

New Bedford - Maria Idalina Melo, Aged 81 years, passed away May 6, 2005, at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the wife of the late Alfredo Pacheco Ferreira. Survivors include 2 Daughters: Lucia Da Costa and Graca Frias both of New Bedford and 4 Sons: Luis Ferreira of New Bedford, Antonio Ferreira of Acushnet, Eduardo Ferreira and Carlos De Melo of New Bedford. She had 15 Grandchildren and 11 Greatgrandchildren. Mrs. Melo was the sister of Maria do Carmo Lima of New Bedford and Manuel Lourenco Melo of Sao Miguel, Azores. She was also the sister of the late Joao, Antonio and Jose Melo and Maria Jose Ramos.

Mrs. Melo was born in Furnas, Sao Miguel, Azores and lived in this area for the last 28 years. She was the daughter of the late Antonio Jacinto Melo and Maria Lourenco (Tavares) Melo.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, May 9, 2005 at at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 9 A.M. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours will be from 4 to 8 P.M., on Sunday, May 8, 2005 at the Perry Funeral Home.
