Norwood,Ma. Manuel Tavares died Tuesday April 12, 2005, at Caritas Norwood Hospital in Norwood Ma. He was the husband of the late Gertrude (Athaide) Tavares. Survivors include 1 Daughter Janice wife of Michael Mathias of Mansfield, Ma. 2 Granddaughters: Heather Palmer of Cohasset Ma.and Tiffany Mathias of Attleboro, 1 Great Grandson :Nathaniel Mathias Palmer of Cohasset Ma. 1 Brother Leonard Travers of New Bedford, Ma.

Mr. Tavares was a Grinder at Revere Copper and Brass until his retirement.He served in the navy in WWII

Mr. Tavares was born in New Bedford Ma. He was the son of the late Maria (Sylvia) and Joseph Tavares.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday April 15, 2005 at 10:30 A.M. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours will be from 7-9 P.M., on Thursday April 14, 2005 at Perry Funeral Home.
