James Murphy, Sr.

New Bedford – James Murphy, Sr., age 68 of New Bedford, died on Friday June 26, 2015 at his residence. He was the loving husband of 45 years to Debra (Costa) Murphy and the son of the late Ellen (Rosebottom) and David Murphy.
James was a lifelong resident of this area and worked as a security guard.
His family includes his wife, Debra Murphy, of New Bedford; 3 children: James Murphy, Jr. of New Bedford, Michael Murphy of Dartmouth and Jason Murphy of New Bedford; 4 grandchildren: Kaylyn, Michael, Jr., Savannah and Makayla; siblings: Kenneth Murphy, Samuel Murphy, Catherine Medeiros and Martha Teodoro; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Murphy was predeceased 4 other siblings.
In accordance with his wishes, he will be cremated and services are omitted. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford, MA.
