Jenaro Saldana, Sr.

New Bedford – Jenaro Saldana, Sr., age 81 of New Bedford, passed away on Sunday June 7, 2015 at his home in New Bedford. He was the loving husband of Rosa (Arguinzoni) Saldana and the son of the late Mercedes (Saldana) and Domingo Santiago.
Born in Cayey, Puerto Rico, Mr. Saldana worked as a Chef for the Holiday Inn for many years until his retirement.
His family includes 6 children: Evelyn Santiago Cruz of New Bedford, Genaro Santiago, Jr. of Puerto Rico, Orlando Santiago of New Bedford, Ramon L. Santiago of New Bedford, Rosa Santiago of Puerto Rico and the late Alvin Santiago; 2 living siblings: Rafael Santiago of Puerto Rico and Maria Mercedes Santiago of Florida as well as several siblings that predeceased him. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place in the funeral home on Friday June 12 from 9 – 12 P.M. with a service to begin at 12:00 P.M. Burial in Rural Cemetery. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford, MA.
