Maria A. (Costa) Vieira

New Bedford-Maria A. (Costa) Vieira died Friday March 18th at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the widow of Jose P. Vieira. She was the mother of Natalia ,and her husband Jose Peixoto of New Bedford, Lucy R., and her husband Michael of New Bedford, and Jose M., and his wife Odete Vieira of Dartmouth. She was the loving grandmother of Christopher and Joyce Peixoto, and Rui and Sergio Vieira. She was the sister of the late Idalina Medeiros, Maria Jesus Canahato, and Conceicao Costa. She was also survived by several nieces, and nephews.

Mrs. Vieira was the daughter of the late Manuel and Francisca (Carlota) Costa. She was born in Ribeira Quente, Sao Miguel, Azores, and lived here for the last 36 years. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. She was a thread cleaner at Cove Manufacturing before her retirement.

Mrs. Vieira Funeral Mass of Christian burial will be on Monday March 21, 2005 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, New Bedford; Visiting hours will be Sunday March 20, 2005 from 6-9 P.M.. She will be buried will be at St. John Cemetery.
