Shirley M. Cordeiro

New Bedford – Shirley M. Cordeiro, age 84 of New Bedford, passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the beloved widow of Donald L. Cordeiro and the daughter of the late Mary (Vardo) and Julio Rebello.
A life long resident of this area, Shirley was a graduate of New Bedford High School and worked as a Secretary in the Wholesale Liquor Distributing industry until her retirement.
Her family includes her 3 children: Stephen P. Cordeiro and his wife, Marie, of Barrington, RI, Brian D. Cordeiro and his wife, Rebecca, of Bridgewater, Ma and Gail M. Mulcahey and her husband, Mark, of New Bedford; as well as 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Her funeral will be Friday morning beginning in the funeral home at 9:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday evening in the funeral home from 5 – 8 P.M.
