Joan W. (Arruda) Medeiros

Fairhaven-Joan W.(Arruda) Medeiros died Thursday February 10, 2005 at the Alden Court Nursing Care & Rehabilitation Center, after a courageous battle with cancer, with her Family by her side. She was the wife of Frank J. Medeiros of New Bedford. She was the mother of David J. Medeiros and his wife Diane, of New Bedford, Debbie A. Perry and her husband Scott, of New Bedford, Mike A. Medeiros of New Bedford. She was the sister of Shirley Pinto of Dartmouth, Lillian Sylvia of Mattapoisett, and her step-brother Tony Correia of New Bedford. She was the grandmother ofRussell, Brennan, Eric, Brittany, and the late James Perry. She was aunt of her special niece Diane Silva.

Mrs. Medeiros was the daughter of the late Alfred Arruda and Wilhemina (England) Correia. She lived in this area all her life. She was an assistant cook with the New Bedford School Department until her retirement. She was known for her smile, and thinking of other people.

Visiting Hour will be Sunday February 13, 2005 from 4-8 P.M., at Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. Religious Service will be Monday February 14, 2005 at 9 A.M. officiating will be Rev. Michael Racine.
