Sandra V. Edwards

New Bedford - Sandra (Martin) Edwards, age 69 of New Bedford, passed away on Tuesday April 21, 2015 at the Oaks Nursing Home. She was the loved wife of Michael G. Edwards and the daughter of the late Vera (Dias) and Frank Martin. A lifelong resident of this area, Mrs. Edwards was a Licensed Practical Nurse at St. Luke’s Hospital for over 20 years until her retirement.

She is survived by her husband, Michael, of New Bedford; her son, Sean Edwards of New Bedford; 3 grandchildren: Devin, Desmond and Darien and a great granddaughter, Emma. She is also survived by an aunt, Alda "Ady" Fernandez of California; her in-laws: Barry Edwards, Christine DeBarros and Charlene Duguay, best friends: Eileen Chadwick, Brenda Macedo, Cathy Meneces; cousins: Brenda Gouveia, Barry Fernandez and Robert "Bobby" Dias and her beloved dog, Kylie. Sandra was also the mother of the late Sherri Lynn Edwards.

Her funeral will be Monday morning beginning in the funeral home at 7:45 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 8:45 A.M.
