Carlos A. Moniz

New Bedford – Carlos A. Moniz, age 58, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at St. Luke's Hospital. He was the loved husband of Grimaneza M. (Costa) Moniz of New Bedford and the son of the late Maria C. (DeAlmeida) and Jose Moniz. He was born in St. Michael, Azores and, after moving to this country, worked at U.S. Ringbinder as well as 1st River Bay and City of New Bedford.
His surviving family includes his wife Grimaneza, his daughter: Cristina Moniz of New Bedford, 2 brothers: Manuel Moniz and Jose Moniz both of Dartmouth, 1 sister, Filomena Moniz Cordeiro of St Michael, Azores, nephews Joseph Moniz and Ricardo Cordeiro and a niece Cristina Cordeiro and several other nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be Monday beginning in the funeral home at 9:30 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will take place in the funeral home on Monday prior to the Church from 8:00 – 9:30.
