Plainville, Ma – Leonard D. Macedo, age 84 of Plainville, Ma, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2015 at his residence. Born in New Bedford, he was the son of Mary (Almeida) and Antone Macedo. He worked most of his life at the Raytheon Corporation in Taunton and Waltham, Ma. He frequented La Salette Shrine in Attleboro, was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Society and a parishioner of St. Mary's Church in Mansfield, Ma.
A beloved son, brother and uncle, Leonard was cherished by everyone. He was a very charitable man and was an inspiration and a shining example to everyone. His love and care is a legacy we will have forever.
Leonard had the light of God in him and shined it upon everyone he met.
Corporal Leonard D. Macedo proudly served our country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.
His surviving family includes 4 siblings: Louis Macedo, David Macedo, Mary Stafford and Cecelia Aguiar, as well as several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Mr. Macedo was predeceased by 4 siblings.
His funeral will take place on Friday beginning in the funeral home at 9:30 A.M. and continuing with a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. Visitation will take place in the funeral home on Thursday from 5-8 P.M. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford.
