Francisco H. Garcia

New Bedford – Francisco H. Garcia, age 69 of Dartmouth, passed away on Wednesday March 11, 2015, at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was the loving husband of Maria Lilia (Arriaga) Garcia and the son of Hortensia da Silva (Abreu) and Francisco D. Garcia.
Mr. Garcia was born in Faial, Azores, moved to this country in 1960 and worked in the plumbing and heating industry in a partnership with his good friend Bob Olejarz as well as for Perfection Oil. He also did some work for Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
Francisco was a member of Clube Uniao Faialense and the Moose Lodge 914.
His family includes, 1 son: Timothy Garcia and his wife, Katelyn, of Fairhaven; 3 siblings: Manuel Garcia of Dartmouth, Maria H. Martins and Lucia Garcia; as well as several nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be Monday beginning in the funeral home at 8:00 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish at 9:00 A.M. Burial in Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will take place in the funeral home on Sunday evening from 5 - 8 P.M. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford.
