Maria N. Brum

New Bedford – Maria N. Brum, age 87 of New Bedford, passed away on Saturday, March 7th, 2015 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the loving wife of the late Jose F. Brum and the daughter of Maria do Espirito (Santos) and Jose da Costa Matias.
Maria was born in St. Michael, Azores and moved to this country in 1976. She was a homemaker who enjoyed making sure her family was well taken care of.
Her family includes, 4 children: Jose F. Brum, Joao M. Brum and his wife Maria, Antonio E. Brum and Maria N. Monteiro and her husband Antonio S. all of New Bedford; as well as 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Maria was predeceased by several siblings.
Her funeral will take place on Wednesday beginning in the funeral home at 9:30 A.M. and continuing at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. Visitation will take place in the funeral home on Tuesday from 5-8 P.M. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford.
