New Bedford – Curtis C. Costa, age 66 of East Freetown, passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at Sacred Heart Nursing Home. Born in New Bedford, Curtis was the son of Alice M. (Kenny) and Joseph Costa. He worked in Maintenance at Coyne Textiles for 36 years until his retirement.
Corporal Curtis C. Costa proudly served our country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was decorated with the National Defense Medal, The Vietnam Campaign Medal w/device, the Combat Action Ribbon, The Vietnam Service Medal and the RVN Cross of Gallantry w/palm and frame.
His family includes: 2 daughters: Crystal and Star Costa, both of New Bedford, 4 grandchildren: Matthew Normandin of Middleboro, Dillon Normandin and Kaiden Foscaldi, both of New Bedford, and the late Ray Normandin; a great grandson, Austin Normandin; siblings: Beverly Silva of Winter Haven, Fla, Debra Murphy of New Bedford, Laurie Pereira of Winter Haven, Fla and Josie Costa of Everett Wa; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his siblings: Colleen Charest and Robert Costa
Private Arrangements are placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford, Ma.
