Theresa M. (Duarte) Travers

New Bedford - Theresa M. (Duarte) Travers, of New Bedford, died Monday, January 3, 2005, at St. Luke's Hospital. She was the wife of Edward B. Travers and the mother of Edward B. Travers Jr. of New Bedford, Shirley M. Allard of Leominster, Mass., Brenda Wright of Northport, Fla., Robert Travers of So. Dartmouth and Errol Travers of Port Charlotte, Fla. She is survived by 2 sisters, 1 brother and several nieces and nephews. She also had 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Travers was born in New Bedford, and lived in this area all of her life. She was the daughter of the late Manuel Duarte and Apolinaria "Pollyanna" (deJesus) Duarte. She was a self employed Cake Maker and also previously worked at Lino Elastic.

Her funeral will be Thursday January 6, 2005, from the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. at 9:30 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 A.M. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Rivet St. New Bedford, MA.Interment will follow at St. John's Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Wednesday, January 5, 2005 from 5 - 8 P.M.at the funeral home.
