New Bedford - Gertrude E. LeBoeuf, 93, of New Bedford, MA entered into eternal rest on February 2, 2015 at St. Luke’s Hospital. Gertrude was the wife of the late Francis E. LeBoeuf and daughter of the late Arthur and Lucy (McDermott) Cormier.
Born in New Bedford, she graduated from Holy Family High School and Kinyon Campbell Business School. She worked At Continental Screw Company for a few years and then became a full time homemaker. In later years, she took great pleasure as a volunteer at St. Luke’s Hospital, the New Bedford Visitor Center, and City Hall.
She was a communicant of St. Lawrence Martyr Church. Her faith in God always brought much comfort and peace. She was happiest when she was with family and close friends.
Survivors include 3 children: Marylou (Richard) Dubois of Somerset, MA, Kathleen Davis of Virginia Beach, VA and Albert N. LeBoeuf (Susan) of New Bedford, MA; 7 grandchildren: Marc LeBoeuf (Carolyn), Katie LeBoeuf, Keith Dubois, Shannon Dubois, Christopher Davis (Jessica), Brittany Chambers, and Stephen Davis (Bekah) and 5 great grandchildren; sister-in-law Betty Corbett and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Edward A. Cormier. Gertrude will also be missed by her beloved childhood friend Sr. Marian Teresa Dury and her special family – the Nortons.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Sacred Heart Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for their comfort and love while living there.
Her funeral will be Saturday beginning in the funeral home at 8:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to take place at St. Lawrence Martyr Church at 9:30 A.M. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visiting hours will take place in the funeral home on Friday evening from 4 – 7 P.M.
