Joaquim Da Silva Costa

New Bedford - Joaquim da Silva Costa passed away December 18, 2004, at Home in New Bedford MA. He was the husband of Maria Rosa (Mathews) Costa. Mr. Costa was the father of Joaquim S. Costa of husband of Rhonda of No.Dartmouth., Grandfather of Jack A. Costa, Renee M. Rodrigues and Greatgranfather of Olivia Rose Rodrigues. He was the Brother of Maria Silva, Manuel Silva and Jose Silva all of Portugal and. also several nieces and newphews.

Mr. Costa was born in Livramento, Port Mos, Portugal and lived in this area for 61 yrs He was a United States Citizen. Mr. Costa was Laborer for Loranger and Sons Construction Co. and a member of the Teamsters Union Local 385 for 50 yrs. He received an Honorable Discharge from the Portuguese Calvary . He was the son of the late Francisco and Maria da Costa(Borreiras) Silva.

His funeral will be Wednesday December 22, 2004, from the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. at 8 A.M. with a Funeal Mass. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Rivet St. at 9 AM. Visiting hours will be Tuesday December 21, 2004 from 4 to 8 P.M
