New Bedford-Maria I. Tavares died December 15,2004 at Taber St. Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Norberto Tavares. Survivors include 3 Sons Jose Tavares Husband of Grace of North Dartmouth, Norberto Tavares Husband of Aliene of New Bedford, Jaime (Jimmy) Tavares of New Bedford, 1 Daughter Teresa Cimbrom Wife of Abel of New Bedford, 1 Brother Jose Medeiros of St. Michael, Azores, 1 Sister Maria C. Vital of New Bedford, 6 Grandchildren: Lily Carvalho, Arthur Cimbrom, Chris Tavares, Jeffrey Tavares, Tyler Tavares, Breanna Tavares and 4 Great Grandchildren and several Nieces and Nephews.

Mrs Tavares was a home-maker, she was a communicant of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church.

Mrs Tavares funeral mass will be Monday December 20, 2004 at 9 A.M., at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, New Bedford; Visiting hours will be Sunday December 19, 2004 From 5-9 P.M.. She will be buried will be at St. John Cemetery.
