New Bedford - Milton J. Rose, 71 of Dartmouth peacefully passed away on November 16, 2014. He was the loving, life partner of Kathleen Brito.
A life long resident of Dartmouth he was the son of the late Nicholas S. Rose Sr. and Juliet [Oliveira] Rose-Poitras.
Milton was a graduate of Dartmouth High School class of 1963. He was employed as a service manager for area Toyota dealerships and as a self employed auto mechanic prior to retirement.
Milton was happiest when with family and friends. Summer was his favorite time of the year. He could always be seen at his favorite place, Round Hill Beach.
He loved music and was a wonderful dancer. Milton enjoyed attending car shows, area concerts, day trips to local casinos, good food and an occasional great Manhattan.
Milton had been involved with the DYAA when his daughter Ashley was a child. He enjoyed trips to Nantucket, Florida and Maine where he and Kathy visited with their children. Milton was a kind and gentle man who appreciated the beauty of everyday life.
In addition to Kathleen, Milton is survived by his son Mark Rose and fiancé Corie DeGioia of Palm City, Fla; two daughters, Michelle Trahan and husband Scott of Port St. Lucie, Fla: Ashley Bonville and husband Jason of Nantucket. Two granddaughters, Kayla and Jenna Rose and two grandsons, Cody and Carson Trahan. Kathleen's sons; Michael Thiboutot of Dartmouth and James Thiboutot and wife Laurie of Brownfield, ME and their daughter Haley.
Two brothers, NIcholas S. Rose Jr. and wife Verna of Mashpee; Carl Rose of Dartmouth. Two sisters, Janice Correia and Linda Rose and her spouse Deborah Pochlopek, all of Acushnet.
Milton is also survived by his beloved Uncle Raymond Rose and Irene of Dartmouth, several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Per Milton's wishes he was cremated. Visitation will take place in the funeral home on Sunday, December 7 from 9:00 to 11:00 A.M. with his memorial service to immediately follow. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 DartmouthSt. In New Bedford.
