Doris Lorraine (Borges) Williams, age 77 of New Bedford, died on Thursday, November 13, 2014 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. She was the former wife of John Borges and the widow of Arthur Williams. Doris was a lifelong resident of this area and was a Cafeteria Worker at Roosevelt Junior High School until her retirement.
Mrs. Williams was a beautiful, extraordinary woman who was full of life and treated everyone she knew like family. She was a proud member of the Central Luzo Club in New Bedford. In her leisure time, she enjoyed dancing, shopping, watching movies and dining out. Doris also had a deep fondness of cats.
She is survived by her 8 children: Donna Robichaud and her husband, Ronald, of Marysville, WA, Darlene Rymszewicz and her husband, Dave, John Borges III, Steven Borges, all of New Bedford, Jimmie Borges and his wife, Robin, of Middleboro, Kevin Borges and his wife, Rita, and Lorri Borges, both of New Bedford, and Darren Borges and his wife, Judy, of Rochester; longtime companion, Paul Costa, of Fall River; sister in-laws: Florence Bates and Linda Ostrander; as well as 22 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Williams is predeceased by 2 brothers: Clifford and Robert.
Visiting hours will be Sunday evening in the funeral home from 6 – 8 P.M. Cremation will follow. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford, Ma.
