New Bedford – Linda L. Da Silva, age 67 of Fairhaven, formerly of New Bedford, passed away, peacefully, on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Mary Ella (Williams) and the late Rinaldo Reed. Ms. Da Silva was a lifelong resident of this area and worked in the textile mills for many years until she discovered her passion in healthcare. Linda worked as a Certified Nurse’s Aide for 20+ years and was very passionate about her job.
She was a very loving and caring woman who enjoyed music and karaoke. Her most cherished memories were spent with her family especially her 3 grandchildren.
Her family includes 3 children: Diana Sylvia of Mattapoisett, Laura Da Silva and Susan Da Silva, both of New Bedford; 3 grandchildren: Amanda B. Sylvia, Jessica A. Sylvia and Jared M. Da Silva; 8 siblings: the late Arthur Williams, Howard Reed of Holyoke, Ma, Ronald Reed of Taunton, Barbara Robinson of Delaware, Maryann Silva of Fall River, Ethel Mae Coleman of Alabama, Clarence Reed of New Bedford, and the late William Reed; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Visitation with her cremated remains present will take place in the funeral home on Saturday, August 16 from 12:00 - 2:00 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford.
