Boston – Angelo P. Rosa, age 75 of New Bedford, passed away, peacefully, at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital on July 19, 2014. He was the loving husband of 50 years to Maria A. (Silva) Rosa and the son of Maria da Luz (daRosa) and Pedro Silveira daRosa. He was born in Faial, Azores, moved to this area in 1968 and worked as a Machine Operator at Gaspar’s until his retirement at the age of 62.
Angelo enjoyed watching soccer and rooting on his favorite team, Benfica. He was a very humble man who loved spending time with his grandchildren.
His surviving family includes his wife, Maria, of New Bedford; 2 children: Paul Rosa and his wife, Helena, of New Bedford and Diane R. Pereira and her husband, Nuno, of New Bedford; 6 grandchildren: Roberto, Daniela, Madeleine, Angela, Juliana and Nuno; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Rosa was predeceased by 6 siblings.
A Memorial Service with his cremated remains present will take place in the funeral home on Thursday, July 31 at 5:30 P.M. Family and friends who would like to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home at 5:00 P.M. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford.
