Angelina Trindade Couto

New Bedford – Angelina Trindade Couto, age 82 of New Bedford, passed away at St. Luke’s Hospital on Tuesday, July 8, 2014. She was the loving wife of Gilberto P. Couto and the daughter of Maria Do Rozario (Sousa) and Jose Pacheco Trindade. Mrs. Couto was born in Ribeira Cha, Sao Miguel, Açores, moved to this country in 1968 and worked as a Stitcher at Cliftex Corporation until her retirement.
Her surviving family includes her husband, Gilberto; 5 children: Carlos Couto, Joseph Couto, Albertina Marques, Gisela Lord and Carmina Larguinho; 7 grandchildren: Jonathan, Justin, Jennifer, Allison, Katelyn, Mathew and Nicole; 4 great grandchildren: Sienna, Dylan, Ava and Adriana; as well as 1 sister, Leotina Trindade Costa of Portugal. She was predeceased by 3 brothers.
Her funeral will be Friday morning beginning in the funeral home at 9:30 A.M. and continuing with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M.. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will take place in the funeral home on Thursday evening from 5 – 8 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford.
