Marcia (Moreira) Brito

New Bedford, MA - Marcia Moreira Brito, 84, of New Bedford, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at St.Luke's Hospital. She was the widow of Antonio Brito. Marcia is survived by two daughters, Mary Lucy, wife of Jaime Pereira, of Dartmouth; and Elizabeth Rose Brito, of NB; two sons Antonio Brito, of NB and David Brito of Cape Cod. She is also survived by a sister, Adelia Ribeiro, of Portugal and a brother, Antonio Moreira, of NJ; two grandchildren: Melanie Jekielek and Jamison Pereira and two great grandchildren – Maxwell and Miles Jekielek as well as several nieces and nephews.
Marcia was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She was the daughter of the late Rosa (Pereira) and Antonio Moreira. Marcia worked as a Stitcher at Cliftex Corp.in New Bedford, MA. Mrs. Brito was happiest being a housewife and loving mother. Marcia was a member of the Portuguese Continental Union.
Her funeral will be Saturday, June 21, 2014 beginning in the funeral home at 7:30 A.M. and continuing with a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 8:30 A.M. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours will take place in the funeral home on Friday evening from 5 – 8 P.M. Relatives and friends are welcomed to attend.
