Rose S. Moura

New Bedford – Rose S. Moura, age 81 of New Bedford, passed away on Friday, June 6, 2014 at St. Luke’s Hospital after a brief illness. She was the loving wife of the late Gabriel Moura and the daughter of Prudence (Sylvia) and Guido J. Figueiredo. Mrs. Moura was a lifelong resident of New Bedford where she dedicated herself to upbringing of her loving family.
In her younger years, Rose enjoyed taking trips with her friends and shopping. But most of all, Rose was happiest in the company of her loving family especially her 3 grandchildren.
She leaves behind her 2 daughters: Kathi Texeira and her partner, Mary Ellen Costa, of New Bedford, and Debbie Ayotte and her husband, Jack, of Vermont; 3 grandchildren: Cory Ayotte and his fiancée, Lauren, of Vermont, Jayme Ayotte of California, and Samantha Ayotte of Vermont; a nephew, Ronald Moura and his son, her great nephew, Robert A. Moura, of New Bedford.
Her funeral will be Tuesday, June 10 beginning in the funeral home at 9:30 A.M. and continuing with a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours will take place in the funeral home on Monday evening from 5 – 7 P.M. Relatives and friends are welcomed to attend. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford.
