Lisa Maria Sousa

New Bedford – Lisa Maria Sousa, age 41 of New Bedford, passed away, peacefully, at her home on Saturday, May 24, 2014 after a courageous battle with a long illness. She was loving wife of Paul Sousa and the daughter of the late Maria F. (Pacheco) and Jose De Sousa.
She was born in New Bedford and worked as an Inventory Analyst for Marian Heath Greeting Cards.
In her leisure time, Lisa enjoyed to read. Most of all, she cherished spending time with her family and friends especially her God-children.
She leaves behind her husband and best friend, Paul, and her father, Jose, both of New Bedford; 2 special cousins: Marie Almeida of New Bedford and Antonio Pacheco of Dartmouth; in-laws, Liliana and Jose Sousa of New Bedford; as well as 3 God-children, several other cousins, nieces, nephews, brother and sister in-laws.
Her funeral will be Wednesday, May 28 beginning in the funeral home at 10:30 A.M. and continuing with a Funeral Mass at St. Julie Billiart Church at 11:30 A.M. Cremation will follow. Visiting hours will take place in the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 5 – 8 P.M. Relatives and friends are welcomed to attend. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family and will deeply appreciated.
