Miguel A. Perez

New Bedford- Miguel A. Perez, age 51 of New Bedford, died, unexpectedly, on Tuesday May 13, 2014 at his home. He was the husband of Lillian (Benejam) Perez and the son of Eva (DeJesus) Perez and the late Juan Perez. Miguel was born in Puerto Rico, moved to this area 35 years ago and was employed with Decas Cranberry Products for 30+ years. He was a hard-working man and a big fan of the Boston Red Sox. But, most of all, Miguel loved being with his family especially his granddaughters who meant the world to him.
He leaves behind his wife, Lillian, of New Bedford, his mother, Eva; 3 children: Miguel Perez, Joel Perez and Lilibeth Perez, all of New Bedford; 3 granddaughters: Thailee Gonzalez, Lillianette Colon and Leiana Colon; 1 sibling, Magaly Romero of New Bedford; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Miguel was predeceased by several siblings.
His funeral will be Friday, May 16 at Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford, beginning at 12:00 A.M. with his burial to follow in Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held Thursday evening from 6 – 8 P.M. Relatives and friends are welcomed to attend.
