Jose M. Pinheiro

New Bedford – Jose M. Pinheiro, of New Bedford, died on Wednesday May 7, 2014 at Brandon Woods of New Bedford. He was the loving husband of Maria D. (Medeiros) Pinheiro and the son of the late Maria Madalena (Dutra) and the late Manuel Martins Pinheiro. He was born in Fayal, Azores. Jose moved to this country in 1969 and worked as a baker at New Bedford Baking Company.
He leaves behind his wife, Maria of New Bedford, 2 Sons: Wilson J. Pinheiro, and his wife Celeste, Kevin J.Pinheiro, and his fiancée Meagan Ignacio both of New Bedford; granddaughter: Marissa Pinheiro; 7 siblings: Teresa Andrade of Long Island, NY, Fernando Pinheiro, Catarina Copley, Lourdes Pinheiro all of Canada, Alzira Almeida, Jaime Pinheiro and Amelia Darosa all of Fayal, Azores; several nieces and nephews.
Jose was predeceased by his brothers: Manuel, Antonio and Jose Pinheiro.
His funeral will be Saturday, May 10 at Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford, beginning at 7:30 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 8:30 A.M. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will take place in the funeral home on Friday evening from 5 – 8 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
