Leonor Velasquez

New Bedford – Leonor Velasquez, age 74 of New Bedford, passed away, peacefully, on April 29, 2014 at St. Luke’s Hospital following a brief illness. She was the daughter of Ceveriana (Roman) and Juanito Velasquez. Leonor was born in Puerto Rico, came to this country in 1982 and was a dedicated mother to her 6 children.
Her family includes her 6 children: Sandra Vale of New Bedford, Raul Medina of Puerto Rico, David Pellot, Nancy Rosario, Rosa Rosario, all of New Bedford; and the late Evelyn Vale; as well as 26 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many siblings in Puerto Rico.
Her services will take place Saturday morning at Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford, beginning at 9:00 A.M. Burial to follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Friday evening in the funeral home from 5 – 7 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
In lieu of flowers, monetary donations can be made to the family and will be greatly appreciated.
