Silvino Couto

Dartmouth: Silvino Couto, age 89 of Dartmouth, passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2014 at Brandon Woods of Dartmouth. He was survived by his loving wife Adelina (Mendonca) Couto. Born in St. Michael, Azores, moved to this country in 1966 and lived in Dartmouth for many years. Silvino was a son of the late Evangelina and Manuel Couto. He was employed at Frionor Kitchens in New Bedford until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing with his sons, gardening, and his greatest joys in life was spending time with his grandchildren.
His surviving family includes his loving wife; 5 children: Thomas Couto and his wife Connie of New Port Richey Florida, Albert Couto and his wife Jean of Dartmouth, Duarte Couto and his wife Maria of Dartmouth, Paul Couto of Dartmouth, and Maria M. Couto of Fairhaven ; as well as 7 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren, a brother Gilberto Couto of New Bedford and a sister Maria Caetano of Mattapoisett.

Mr. Couto’s visiting hours will be Tuesday evening in the funeral home from 5 – 8 P.M. his funeral will be Wednesday beginning at 8:00 A.M. at Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 9:00 A.M. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home.
