New Bedford – Roberto T. Carter, age 59 of New Bedford, died Saturday February 15, 2014 at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was the son of the late Earle M. Carter and Florentina (Tagle) Carter. Born in New Bedford he was a graduate of New Bedford High and proudly served in the United States Army. Roberto was a machinist for the Milton Bradley toy company in Springfield, MA.
His surviving family includes his 2 children: Roberto Carter Jr and Sterling Carter both of New Bedford; his 6 Siblings: James T. Carter and his wife Connie of Granada Hills, CA, Ronelino T. Carter of New Bedford, Melody Carter-Walls and her husband Melvin of Springfield, MA, Dawne Botelho of New Bedford, Priscilla Hagins and her husband Richard of Greer, South Carolina and Kimberly Carter of New Bedford; as well as his former wife Zilma Carter, several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Ernesto T. Carter, Earle M. Carter Jr. and Vernon T. Carter.
Visiting hours will take place in the funeral home Friday morning from 10:00 A.M. – 11:45 A.M. with a Religious Service to begin at 11:45 A.M. Burial will follow at Rural Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers donations to the family will be greatly appreciated. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford.
