Louis J. Christy

New Bedford – Louis J. Christy, age 76, died unexpectedly on Saturday January 25, 2014 at St Lukes Hospital. He was the husband of Maria (Gomes) Christy of Dartmouth. He was born in Newark, New Jersey, son of the late Frances J. (Mcarry) and Francis Joseph Christy.

His family includes his 4 sons: John, Keith, Gary, and Troy; 11 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 3 sisters; Juanita, Diane, and Marilyn.

Mr. Christy proudly served our country during the Vietnam War in the United States Army. He also loved playing baseball as well as other sports, his family and his faith.

His funeral will be Friday at PERRY FUNERAL HOME, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford, at 7:45 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Lawrence Martyr Church at 9:00 A.M. Burial will follow at Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Thursday evening in the funeral home from 4 – 7 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
