Antonio Cabral

New Bedford- Antonio Cabral, died at the age of 85 at St. Lukes Hospital on Sunday January 26th after a brief illness. Born in Faial da Terra, Sao Miguel, son of the late David S. Cabral and Maria Rosa (Santos), he lived in New Bedford for 39 years along with his late wife Julieta Cabral, 3 daughters: Ilda Carreiro wife of Humberto, Mary Lou Medeiros wife of Joe and the late Juvenalia Simas. He also leaves behind 5 grandchildren: Theresa Oliveira, Diane Medeiros, Stephanie Carreiro, Melissa Simas, Philip Simas and two great-grandchildren. He is survived by 1 sister; Angela S. Cabral who lives in Faial da Terra Sao Miguel, and 2 deceased siblings Conceicao Sousa and Manuel S. Cabral. Antonio is also survived by several nieces and nephews, along with godchildren and several brothers and sisters in laws.
Mr. Cabral’s funeral will be Thursday at 8:00 A.M. at Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St., with a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 9:00 A.M. Burial to follow in St John Cemetery. Visiting hours are Wednesday evening from 5-8 P.M. Family and Friends are invited.
