Fall River – Shirley Ann Johnson, age 55 of New Bedford, passed away at Charlton Memorial Hospital on January 18, 2014 after a long illness. She was the loving companion of David Skinner Sr. and the daughter of Rhunetta (Evans) and the late David Edward Johnson. She was born in Sumter, S.C., moved here about 20 years ago and worked at KPMG law firm as an Executive Secretary. Shirley was a professional R&B and soul singer and was part of the group KTP Keeping the Pace.
Her surviving family includes her mother Rhunetta of Georgia, her husband David of New Bedford, 2 sons: James Mullins Jr. and David Skinner Jr., both of New Bedford, 2 grandchildren Jaedyn and Nevaeh Mullins, 2 siblings: Shamira “Crystal” Johnson of Georgia and Lisa Johnson of Albany, New York; her aunt Clara Fonseca of New Bedford, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Shirley was the sister of the late Tommy and Gary Johnson.
A Memorial Service will be held at Revival Deliverance Praise & Worship Center, 95 Willow Street, New Bedford, MA, 02740 on Saturday beginning at 11:00 A.M. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford.
