Encarnacao Borges

New Bedford – Encarnacao Borges, age 91 years, died Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at The Oaks. She was the loving wife of Antonio Borges of New Bedford. Encarnacao was born in Cova, Figueira da Foz, Portugal and lived in this area for over thirty years. She was the daughter of the late Emilia Conceicao (Bessada) and Luis Cordeiro . Mrs. Borges worked as a stitcher for many years at various local clothing manufacturers.

Mrs. Borges’ surviving family includes her husband, her son: Antonio M. Borges, husband of Tina of New Bedford, her grandchildren - Ruben Pimentel, Andrew Borges, Raquel Borges and several nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Maria Joao Pimentel.

Mrs. Borges’ funeral will be Saturday at the funeral home at 8 A.M. with services beginning at 9:30 A.M. Burial will follow at Rural Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited. Arrangements have been placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford.
