Manuel Ribeiro

New Bedford – Manuel Ribeiro, age 92, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 30, 2013 at The Oaks. He was the husband of the late Marilia (Cravo) Ribeiro. He was born in Cova, Figueira da Foz, Portugal, the son of the late Joao and Maria (doCeu) Ribeiro and moved to this area in 1975. Manuel worked as a fisherman. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in New Bedford.
Mr. Ribeiro's surviving family includes his daughter: Maria S. wife of Luis daSilva of New Bedford and his son Manuel Ribeiro husband of the late Preciosa of New York, 4 grandchildren: Ana Paula Vieira and her husband Domingos, Luis Ribeiro, Sonia DaSilva and Tania Pacheco and her husband Christopher; and his great grandson Jonathan.
Funeral Services for Mr. Ribeiro will be held on Friday, January 3, 2014 at the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. at 9:30 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in New Bedford at 10:30 A.M. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours will be on Thursday evening from 6 – 8 P.M. Arrangements are placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth in New Bedford.
