Maria Frizado

New Bedford – Maria Frizado - age 91 years, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at Hathaway Manor. She was the widow of Arthur Frizado and the daughter of Maria do Santos (Medeiros) and Manuel Catano. She was born in Ribeira Chã, Saó Miguel, Acores and immigrated to this country in 1966 where she dedicated herself to raising her family. Mrs. Frizado enjoyed the holidays and the company of her grandchildren.

Her surviving family includes her 4 children: John Frizado of New Bedford, Wendy Pereira of New Bedford, Linda Medeiros and her husband, Manuel, of Rochester and Alda Correia and her husband, Leonard, of Dartmouth; 7 grandchildren: Ryan Medeiros, Melissa Frizado, Brandon Medeiros, Amanda Pereira, Eric Frizado, Dillon Correia and Brett Correia; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Maria was predeceased by 5 siblings.

Calling hours will take place in the funeral home Thursday December 26th from 6-8 PM. Her funeral will begin at 8 AM Friday the 27th in the funeral home with a mass of Christian burial at 9 AM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church arraignments placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth ST. in New Bedford
