Ruben Morales Colon

New Bedford – Ruben Morales Colón, age 69, passed away on Wednesday December 18, 2013 at his home in New Bedford. He was the husband of Nilda (Martinez) Colón and the son of the late Isabelino Colon and Julia Morales. Ruben was born in Guayama, Puerto Rico and after immigrating to this country worked as an X-Ray Technician at King’s County Hospital in Brooklyn, NY. He was known as a dedicated and loving husband, son, father, step-father and grandfather to his family.
He is survived by his wife, Nilda of New Bedford; his mother, Julia; 8 children: Ruben Colón, Jr., Julia M. Colón, Jose Alberto Colón, Jorge Colón, Tomada Soto, Suenita Soto, Wanda Colón and Kimberly Colón; 9 step-children: Maria Rodrigues, Miriam Rodrigues, Yvonne David, Nilda David, Marisel David, Jaime David, Luis David, Marcos David and Daniel David; 4 siblings: Felix Colón, Angelica Colón, Lizzy Colón and Gloria Colón, as well as several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
There will be visiting hours to take place in the funeral home on Sunday, December 22 from 4 – 7 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Cremation will follow. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford.
