Maria Antonia Raposo

New Bedford – Maria Antonia Raposo, age 93, passed away on Wednesday December 18, 2013 at home with her family at her side. She was the wife of the late Jose Alves Raposo. Mrs. Raposo was born in St. Michael, Azores daughter of the late Maria de Espirito Santo and Jose Luis Arruda. She formerly worked at Hathaway Manor as a Winder. Maria’s enjoyment was when her family was all together.
Her family includes her 9 children: Maria Cidalia Cunha, Jose Alves, Manuel, Joao, and Luis Sousa, Arthur Raposo, Conceicao Pereira, Lucia Bernier, and Helena Mateus Arruda, 23 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by 8 brothers and sisters.
Mrs Raposo’s funeral mass will be Saturday, December 21 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 8:45 A.M. Relatives and friends are invited to meet directly at Church. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours are Private for Immediate Family only. Arrangements placed in the care of PERRY FUNERAL HOME, 111 Dartmouth St.
