Esther E. (Pereira) Furtado

New Bedford-Esther E. Furtado died September 26, 2004 at the Hallmark Nursing Home. She was the mother of Robert D. and his wife Jacqueline of South Dartmouth. She was the grandmother of Sandra Furtado, Carl Furtado, Raymond Furtado all of South Dartmouth, and Cheryl and her husband Kurt Carlson of New Bedford. She was the great-grandmother of Sharlene, and Bethany Furtado, and Brett Carlson. She was the sister of Hilda Barros of Florida, Lydia Bush of California. She was the sister of the late Beatrice Silva, Georgianna McCann, Mary Pereira, and Manuel Pereira. She was also survived by several nieces, and nephews.

Mrs. Furtado was the daughter of the late Filberto and Beatrice Ramos (Camara) Pereira. She was a garment worker for many years. She later became a Certified Nurses Aid at St. Luke’s Hospital until her retirement. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church Senior Citizens.

Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday September 29, 2004 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary’s Church South Dartmouth, MA. Visiting hours will be Tuesday September 28, 2004 from 6-8 P.M. at Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St.
