Maria M. Pacheco

Maria M. Pacheco, age 66, died on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. She was the loving wife of the late Manuel A. Pacheco who passed away on July 29, 2013. Mrs. Pacheco was born in Faial, Açores, Portugal, a daughter of Francisca Pinheiro (DeAndrade) and Jose Silveira DaRosa. She, and her husband, came to this country 36 years ago where she was a dedicated home maker to her loving family. Maria had at a heart of gold and was always willing to help anyone in need. She loved babysitting her grandchildren and hearing their laughter was her greatest joy.
Her family includes her 8 children: Nelia Correia and her husband, Antonio, of Acushnet, Manuel F. Pacheco and his wife, Doris, of Pennsylvania, the late Elsa Pacheco, Maria A. Pacheco of New Bedford, Christina Rocha and her late husband Troy, of New Bedford, Manuel A. Pacheco, Jr and his wife Elizabeth of Portugal, Natalia Pacheco of New Bedford and Renato Pacheco and his wife, Michelle, of New Bedford; 4 siblings: the late Jose DaRosa, the late Francisco Silveira, the late Felisberto DaRosa and Renato DaRosa of Canada; as well as 20 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews
Mrs. Pacheco’s Funeral Mass will be Saturday, October 12 beginning at 10:30 A.M. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. EVERYBODY IS ASKED TO MEET DIRECTLY AT CHURCH. Cremation will follow and a private burial of her ashes will take place at a later date. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford.
