Laura M. (Faria) Benevides

New Bedford—Laura M. (Faria) Benevides died September 11, 2004 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the wife of Manuel Moniz Benevides of Fairhavenl. She was the mother of Laura M. and her husband Albino Faria of Fairhaven, Nelson M. and his wife Victoria Benevides of New Bedford, Sidonio M. and his wife Erika Benevides of Fairhaven. She was the mother of the late Hildebato Manuel M. Benevides. She was the loving grandmother of Alyssa J. Faria, and Brennan L. Benevides. She was the twin sister of Valentina of St. Michael Azores, Sister of Ana of South Dartmouth, Jose Antonio of Canada, Margarida, Luis, Gil, and Francisco all of St. Michael Azores. She was also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Benevides was the daughter of Angelina (Bairros) Faria of St. Michael, Azores and the late Albino Faria. She lived here since 1978. She worked as a laundry aid at Our Lady’s Haven in Fairhaven.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday September 15, 2004 at St. John the Baptist Church at 10 A.M. Visiting hours will be Tuesday September 14, 2004 from 5-8 P.M. at Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St.
