Jose Ayaso

New Bedford – Jose Ayaso, age 62, of Acushnet, passed away on Monday, August 19, 2013 at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Geraldine (Bagielto) Ayaso of Acushnet. He was born in Castineiros, Spain a son of the late Flora (Vidal) and the late Andres Ayaso. He moved to this country in 1973 and, prior to his retirement, he worked as a Fisherman.
His survivors include his wife Geraldine; his daughter, Sherrie-Anne Gilmore of Acushnet; 2 grandchildren: Jesse and Mackenzie; siblings: Flora Pineiro, Carmen Ayaso Lee, Andres Ayaso all of Harrison NJ and Julia Ayaso of Spain; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Jose was predeceased by his sister, Ventura Ayaso Perez.
In accordance with his wishes, Jose was cremated. There will be a memorial service held on Saturday September 7, 2013 at Seamen's Bethel Church Downtown New Bedford at 11:00 A.M.
