Eduina De Medeiros

New Bedford – Eduina De Medeiros, age 91, passed away on Tuesday August 6, 2013 at St. Luke’s Hospital after a period of declining health. She was the beloved wife of the late Francisco De Medeiros. She was born in Salga, São Miguel, Açores, the daughter of Rosa daConceicao (Botelho) and Manuel Medeiros Xavier. She, along with her family, moved to this country in 1989 where she continued to be a dedicated Home Maker for her children.
Her surviving family includes her 3 children: Eduarda Gouveia and her husband, Jose, Jose Francisco Medeiros and his wife Maria and Manuela Amaral and her husband, Armindo, all of New Bedford; a brother, Adelino Xavier of Fall River; as well as 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Eduina is predeceased by her siblings: Ilda Xavier, Isaura Correia, Maria do Carmo Correia, Leonor Correia and Martinho Xavier.
Mrs. De Medeiros’ funeral will be Friday August 9 at Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford beginning at 8:00 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 9:00 A.M. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will take place in the funeral home on Thursday evening from 5 - 8 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
